KARACHI, July 26: The Gulshan-i-Iqbal town administration has started work on development of family and children parks in Block 10-A and Shati Nagar areas of UC-7. Town naib nazim Shoaib Akhtar inaugurated the work on Wednesday.

The family park in block 10-A being developed at a cost of Rs779,000 will be completed in three months while the park for children in Shanti Nagar will be built at a cost of Rs600,000.

UC-7 nazim Sikandar Baloch, DO IS Shafiqur Rehman and DTO Parks Tanveer Ahmed were present.

Shah Faisal Town Nazim Mohammad Imran has said that town administration was utilizing all its resources to resolve all the basic problems of town faced by the people.

He was addressing a meeting held here at his office to review the ongoing uplift projects and steps taken for redressal of complaints of people. The meeting reviewed the ongoing and future uplift projects and chalked out a strategy to improve the water and sewerage system and ending of loadshedding.

The water board officials informed the meeting about completion of various uplift projects and steps being taken to improve the water supply system.

The Site town administration has demolished illegal cattle pens and other encroachments under Banaras (Bacha Khan) bridge in UC-7 and cut off unauthorized water connections from main supply line at the bridge.

Town nazim Izharuddin Ahmed Khan directed the DTO Land to ensure removal of encroachments and asked the KWSB XEN to keep a vigil on those taking illegal water connections.

Meanwhile, Malir town administration has provided bulbs and electric chokes to all the UCs of the town for installation of streetlights in their respective localities.

Town nazim Ansar Ahmed Sheikh handed the equipment to UC nazims at a ceremony held on Wednesday.
