LAHORE A young cyclist, Sardar Salar Ahmed Sandhu, arrived in Lahore on Tuesday after completing a 1,000km cycling expedition he started from Siran Valley, Mansehra.

Punjab Sports Director General Tariq Qureshi warmly received the cyclist at the National Hockey Stadium here.

Speaking to the media, Salar said he had undertaken the journey with the cooperation of the Punjab Sports Board and successfully completed it despite facing various difficulties along the route. “The primary purpose of my expedition was to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army,” he added.

Mr Qureshi congratulated Salar on the successful completion of the challenging cycling expedition. “This expedition, completed with the cooperation of Punjab Sports Board, will prove to be a great motivation for the country’s youth,” he said.
