SHIKARPUR, July 24: A meeting in connection with settlement of tribal disputes was held here at the district government secretariat on Monday. District Nazim Arif Mahar presided over the meeting. MPA Zulfiqar Kamario, DCO Shafique Khoso, DPO Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh, SP (investigation) Farooq Jamali, District naib nazim Taqi Abbas Kamario, Garhi Yasin taluka nazim Najaf Ali Kamario, Lakhi Ghulam Shah taluka nazim Imran Mahar and chairman of the works and services committee, Nadir Ali Shah, attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed tribal disputes in the district and made recommendation to bring an end to the feuds. MPA Zulfiqar Kamario was nominated as a mediator by the district government to develop coordination with chieftains and notables for reconciliation between the rival groups.

The meeting decided to give free hand to the DPO for utilising all legal sources without accepting any political pressures from any influential for the arrest of absconders and other outlaws.

The participants appealed to chieftains and notables to realise their obligations and work in interests of people and extend their cooperation to the district government for settlement of disputes so that proposed development schemes could be implemented in the district.

The meeting decided to impose a ban on exhibition of arms through enforcement of section 144 CrPC.

It was also decided to cancel arms licenses of people involved in murder cases. The DPO told the meeting that in order to keep vigil on the movement of outlaws, 24 more police pickets were being constructed at main points along the roads.
