BANNU: The employees of the TMA Bannu on Friday asked the government to resolve their issues or else they would stage a protest outside the provincial assembly building in Peshawar. They were speaking at a ‘protest’ meeting.

TMA Employees Union president Nazirullah Awan, general secretary and provincial vice president of the Local Government Employees Federation Hafiz Karim Dad, divisional president Tariq Khan, divisional chairman of the All Pensioners and Labour Union Ghulam Deyaz Khan Sikandari, Wali Ayaz Khan, and others attended the meeting.

The meeting was held at the Bannu TMA hall under the banner of the TMA Employees’ Union and the Local Government Employees Federation to press the government to accept their demands and resolve the issues faced by local government employees.

The leaders said local government employees were playing a vital role in providing basic civic services to the public but were facing several issues related to salaries, service structure, promotions and job security.
