Life is fun when you can be yourself. But imagine waking up one morning to find yourself suddenly in someone else’s body! You would look different, move differently and even see the world in a completely new way.
That is the fun premise behind Swapped, an animated adventure about two very different animals who suddenly find themselves in each other’s bodies. Their funny, exciting adventure teaches them that sometimes the best way to understand someone is to see the world through their eyes.
The story follows Ollie, a small woodland animal, and Ivy, a beautiful bird. They are not friends. In fact, they are enemies and do not trust each other. But one day, something very strange happens — they suddenly swap bodies!
At first, they are confused and unsure what to do. Soon, they realise they must help each other if they want to return to their own bodies. As they travel, they discover that being different does not mean they have to be enemies. They also learn that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses.
By living in each other’s bodies, they finally understand what life is like for the other. When they return to normal, they realise how important it is to work together. They convince their parents to put aside their differences and join hands to fight the scary wolf who has been causing trouble for everyone.
The movie is directed by Nathan Greno, who also directed Disney’s Tangled. If you enjoyed that, you may enjoy Swapped, too. The animals look cute and colourful, and the beautiful valley makes the adventure even more fun to watch.
The movie also features some famous voices. Michael B. Jordan voices Ollie, while Juno Temple voices Ivy. Tracy Morgan plays Boogle, and Cedric the Entertainer voices Caloo.
Swapped teaches us an important lesson about friendship. Sometimes we think someone is too different from us to become our friend, but when we take the time to understand them, we may discover that we have more in common than we thought.
So the next time you go to school, try talking to someone you don’t usually play with. Say hello, share a game or simply ask how they are. You never know — you might make a wonderful new friend!
