CHAKWAL July 22: A man killed his two sons by throwing them into a well while the third one escaped death after he fled from the scene, Talagang Saddar police said on Saturday.

Akbar Khan, a resident of Murali village, told his wife that he was taking his three sons — Faheem (11), Waseem (8) and Ziaur Rehman (6) — to a nearby village for Fahim’s enrolment in a school.

During the journey when they were walking past a well Akbar Khan threw his two younger sons into the well.

However, the eldest one escaped from the scene and informed his mother about the incident.

Akbar’s wife, Ghulam Begum, reported the incident to Saddar police who lodged a report.

SHO Khurshid Baig rushed to the crime scene and fished out the bodies of Waseem and Ziaur Rehman.

The police also arrested the culprit and started further investigation.

Sources said Akbar Khan, a former armyman, was in distress after developing differences with his wife.
