FAISALABAD, July 21: Full-back Amir Saleem will lead the 16-member Pakistan ‘A’ hockey squad announced on Friday for next month’s South Asian Games in Colombo.

The squad was announced after two-day trials in Faisalabad. As many as 49 probables were watched in action by chief selector Khalid Mahmood, selector Manzoorul Hassan and secretary of the Pakistan Hockey Federation Brig Musarrat Ullah Khan.

The squad departs next month for Colombo where the Games will be played from Aug 18 to 28.

Squad: Mohammad Iqbal, Mohammad Farhan, Amir Saleem, Shahzad Aslam, Imran Warsi, Imran Khan, Sajjad Anwar, Inam-ur Rahman, Jawaid, Zakirullah, Waqas Akbar, Shabbir Khan, Yasir Islam, Ishtiaq, Kashif Yaqoob and Mudassir Khan. — APP
