Plasma TV

KARACHI, July 21: Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd on Friday launched Panasonic’s new line of VIERA plasma television sets of large screen.

The company intends to grab up to 40pc of the world’s plasma screen market from the current 21.6pc, as the demand for plasma TV may grow 200pc to 10m by the end of 2006 and to 25m by 2010.

Faisal Ikramullah, marketing head of Panasonic Pakistan, said Panasonic had no manufacturing plant in Pakistan because the technology of plasma was highly technical so its assembly in Pakistan was not possible.
