Traders’ protest

Published July 22, 2006

KARACHI, July 21: Traders of Tariq Road plan to bring out a peaceful protest rally on Saturday from Madina Mosque to the Karachi Press Club against severe power crisis in the area.

Tariq Road Traders Action Committee chairman Siddiq Memon said the traders would also hold protest outside the KPC in the afternoon. In a statement, he said the traders had decided not to pay electricity bills to the KESC for this month, as the utility company had been deliberately resorting to unannounced load-shedding and causing power fluctuation in the area.
