DAMASCUS: Thirty members of the Syrian Parliament have sent cables to the President of the Security Council and to the Prime Minister of Bharat urging the withdrawal of the Bharati armed forces from the frontiers of Pakistan. The cable to the President of the Security Council said: “We have cabled to Jawaharlal Nehru voicing the agitation of the Arabs which is due to the mobilization of the Bharati forces on the Pakistan borders and have asked him to withdraw them.

“We are awaiting your quick action in retrieving the deteriorating situation and save the peace of the world.” The following is the text of the cable to the Prime Minister of Bharat, Mr Jawaharlal Nehru: “The mobilization of the Bharati forces on the borders of Pakistan has agitated the people and the official circles of Syria and the Muslim world.

“We look forward to the two big Eastern Governments of Bharat and Pakistan to be the main factor of the renaissance of the East. We hope your Government will withdraw her forces to save world peace and to strengthen the ties of co-operation between Bharat and Pakistan.”
