Al-Khidmat wins UC by-election

BUNER, Oct 17: Al-Khidmat candidate Haji Sadiqullah won the seat of Pachakalay union council in the by-election by defeating Shah Jehan, son of the district Naib Nazim, Mohammad Khan, here on Tuesday.

According to an unofficial announcement, Sadiqullah polled 1,476 votes while Shah Jehan received 1,136 votes.

The seat became vacant after Mohammad Khan had opted for the slot of the district Naib Nazim. But his son, Shah Jehan, could not win the by-election.

Haji Sadiqullah recently joined the Jamaat-i-Islami after parting ways with the Awami National Party.
