ISLAMABAD, July 19: The People’s Rights Movement (PRM) on Wednesday strongly condemned the barbaric Israeli attacks on civilian populations in Southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

In a statement it demanded of the government to withdraw support to US, which was the major supporter of the Israeli acts.

Zahoor Khan of PRM said that the complicity of major Muslim governments such as Pakistan was one of the major reasons of Israeli atrocities, which was being perpetrated with the express consent of the US against civilian populations in Gaza and Lebanon without any fear of censure.

He said that the relative silence of the Musharraf government was disgraceful and reflected the total lack of accountability of the present regime to the people of Pakistan who were unanimous in their condemnation of Israel.

“PRM rejects the Israeli claim that the actions in Gaza and southern Lebanon are motivated only by a desire to defend Israel. The philosophy of pre-emptive military action that has been employed by the US, Israel and all other imperialist nations since the start of the war on terror is nothing more than a unilateral policy that is premised upon a monopoly over the way information is presented and disseminated.

In this case, the weak and defenceless Palestinian and Lebanese populations are depicted as terrorists even though they are no match for the Israeli army and airforce, he said.
