SHIKARPUR, July 18: The adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister on Local Bodies and Katchi Abadis, Waseem Akhtar, blamed past rulers of the province for the problems being faced by the people and said that the government would provide basic amenities to people through the local government system.
Speaking at an open katchehry held at Jahaz Chowk on Tuesday, Mr Akhtar said that all the people living in Sindh were Sindhis and they should collectively struggle for the progress of the province.
He urged the elected representatives, especially taluka nazims and taluka municipal officers (TMOs), to realise their responsibilities for resolving peoples’ problems.
He said that the government was making efforts to create jobs in the public as well as private sector to enable the jobless educated youths to earn their livelihood.
Later, people complained to the adviser about their problems with regard to drainage, education, health and load-shedding at the katchehry.
The advisor directed district officers, taluka nazims and TMOs in a meeting at DCO office to find permanent solution to the problems.
