NAROWAL: The Sialkot anti-corruption establishment arrested four people, including a former medical superintendent of the Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital, for allegedly causing losses to the government exchequer.

Citizen Aqeeq Baig, a resident of Mohalla Bijli of Sialkot, had filed an application with ACE alleging that Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital MS Dr Sohail Anjum Butt, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Fateh, and Computer Operator Shahbaz Soni had jointly appointed a fake doctor in the hospital. He claimed that the MS and other employees had prepared posting orders, joining reports, fake medical fitness certificates and fake relief reports of the allegedly fake doctor. The applicant claimed that the MS along with his associates had caused a loss of Rs668,856 to the government.

The ACE had registered an FIR against the accused officials on Nov 24, 2025. The ACE claimed that after an investigation into the allegations, MS and other accused were found involved in corruption.

ACE Inspector Rana Mubashir completed the legal action on the instructions of Punjab ACE director general and arrested the accused officials. The arrested suspects include Dr Sohail Anjum, Dr Abdul Fateh, Shahbaz Soni and alleged fake Dr Shabbir. The ACE said that strict action would be taken against the arrested suspects as per the law.
