Acid attack victim succumbs to burns

LAHORE: A woman who had suffered burns in an acid attack by a man two weeks back in the jurisdiction of Factory Area police succumbed to her burns at hospital on Friday.

Identified as Khalid, the suspect was arrested on the day of the incident and a case was lodged against him.

Victim Sana was married with three children. The suspect used to tease her whenever she went out of her home and she used to reject his advances.

On the day of the incident, the suspect threw acid on her and burnt her body.

As per the police investigation, the woman had suffered deep burns on her face and chest when the suspect intercepted her in the street and threw acid on her.

She was rushed to the Jinnah Hospital in a critical condition where she couldn’t survive despite two-week long treatment.
