ISLAMABAD, July 17: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled two separate attempts to smuggle heroin abroad and arrested its carriers, an ANF spokesman said here on Monday.

He said on a tip-off, a raiding party under the supervision of inspector Tanveerul Haneef intercepted a passenger, Behram Khan, at Islamabad airport. He was booked on a China-bound flight (CZ-6008).

During initial investigation, the accused revealed that he was carrying heroin filled capsules in his stomach. He was admitted to Rawalpindi General Hospital where 98 capsules were retrieved.

In the second operation, the ANF party arrested Kashif Shah, another passenger on the same flight, after recovering 75 capsules containing 530 grams heroin from his suitcase.—Staff Reporter
