BEIJING, July 17: President of Chinese Youth Federation Zhou Qiang lauded the China-Pakistan friendship and said it met the aspirations of their people. He was talking to Pakistan youth delegation that arrived Beijing on Monday on last leg of its two-week goodwill visit to China. He briefed the delegation about the role of Chinese youth in the country’s fast socio-economic development. Commending the China-Pakistan close bonds of friendship, he said it has been a source of peace and development in the region.

The visit reflects the strong desire of the two countries to carry forward their deep-rooted traditional friendship from generation to generation, Mr Zhou said adding the leadership of the two countries attached great importance to the exchange of youth delegations to maintain depth of their relationship in the new century.

Such visits, he added, also help keep the youth well-informed about the new developments and have a better understanding of their future cooperation in various sectors.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest. Pakistan ambassador to China Salman Bashir and the Secretary Youth Affairs Saleem Mahmood Saleem were also present on the occasion.
