Youth killed during rape attempt on teenager

BAHAWALPUR: A youth was allegedly killed while attempting to rape a teenage boy in Chak 11WB in the limits of Vehari City police station on Thursday night.

According to reports, two youth ‘K’ and ‘N’ lured 16-year-old ‘Z’ to the house of N where they allegedly attempted to rape him at gunpoint.

During the attempt, Z resisted and K was killed when his pistol accidentally went off. The other youth fled the scene.

Police and Crime Control Department (CCD) teams along with forensic and crime scene units reached the spot and took the teenager in custody along with the firearm and sent the body for a postmortem examination.

According to Z’s initial statement to the police, the deceased allegedly attempted to rape him at gunpoint.

He claimed that during the scuffle, the deceased’s pistol went off accidentally and he was hit in the forehead and died.

However, according to the FIR, registered on the complaint of the deceased’s uncle, Z allegedly opened fire on the deceased after an exchange of harsh words, killing him on the spot.

He claimed that they had a quarrel a few days ago and in an act of revenge he was murdered.
