PESHAWAR, July 14: The Election Commission has deputed A staff of 20,526 in the NWFP and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) to prepare computerised electoral rolls for the next general elections, officials said.
An official said that necessary training has been imparted to the field staff, including enumerators and supervisors, for preparing voters’ lists across the province and tribal areas.
The commission, he said, had appointed 38 registration officers, 305 assistant registration officers, 5,027 supervisors and 15,156 enumerators.
The commission launched a campaign on Friday which would continue throughout the year. Computerised identity cards have been declared mandatory for casting votes in the elections.
