SAHIWAL: Four separate incidents of rape of minors were reported in the region within the past 24 hours. In the first case, a 10-year-old boy, a resident of Chak 7/12-L, was taken by his two friends to an orchard where they allegedly raped him and fled leaving him unconscious.
In the second incident, 14-year-old boy, a resident of Chak 164/9-L, was raped by two youths in a maize field of his village.
In the third case, a resident of Hasan Colony, Iqbal Nagar, raped his own six-year-old daughter. The incident was reported to police by the victim’s mother.
In the fourth incident, a 16-year-old girl of Chak 4/10-L, was gang-raped two men when she was alone at home. The suspects fled, leaving the girl unconscious.
Police said police stations of Shah Kot, Kassowal, Ghaziabad, and Harappa registered cases on the complaints.
MURDER: The Saddar Police Station found the body of a woman near Chak 62/EB, tehsil Arifwala, 45 days after she went missing.Albisha, a resident of Chak 86/EB, Arifwala, married to Muhammad Nawaz, a resident of Chak 68/EB, five years back. The couple had a three-year-old boy, Ihtisham.
According to SHO Luqman, Albisha used to face domestic violence from Nawaz and protested with her family. Resultantly, Nawaz gave her divorce and she shifted to her father’s house along with her son.
The matter went to local reconciliation council which tries to negotiate between two families over maintenance of the child and the mother and Nawaz was allowed to see his divorced wife and child. On April 20, Nawaz, along with his friend Munir Ahmed, went to see his son and ex-wife. There he convinced her wife to travel with him so he would buy clothes for Abisha and toys and other things for their son.
The mother and son went missing after they went with Nawaz. The family approached Saddar Police Station on June 28. The police took Nawaz into custody for interrogation and he confessed to have killed Alishba and buried her the day she came with him. The police, on his identification, recovered the body and sent it for forensic analysis. The boy was living with his father.
The dead woman’s remains were sent for forensic analysis to Lahore.
SUICIDE: A young mason died by alleged suicide in an under-construction house in Ajooba City, reportedly due to financial issues and strained relationships with his parents.
Police said Tayyab, 23, the eldest son of Ghulam Murtaza, a resident of Malka Hans, was working as a mason in a trader’s under-construction house. Tayyab had strained relations with his parents, who often taunted him over unemployment and low income, leaving him under severe stress.
Yesterday, he allegedly ended his life by hanging himself with a rope in the bathroom of the under-construction house. Police shifted the body to the district headquarters hospital for a post-mortem and later handed it over to his parents.
