KARACHI, July 13: At least 51 mobile phones and 30 vehicles were either snatched or stolen in the city on Thursday. Police said 24 cell phones were snatched at gunpoint and 23 mobile phones were stolen while four phones were reported missing.

Similarly, one car was snatched at gunpoint and 11 were stolen in different parts of the city while eight motorcycles were taken away at gunpoint and 10 were reported stolen on Thursday.

The Anti-Dacoity and Robbery Cell (ADRC) arrested three street criminals in Clifton and recovered 45 snatched mobile phones .

They accused were identified Babar Khan and his two accomplices Farhan alias Majnoon and Ghous Mohammad. Police recovered 41 stolen cell phones, three TT pistols, three magazines and 13 rounds from the accused.

Later, the police conducted a raid in Malir and arrested a cell phone dealer Mohammad Haroon and recovered four snatched mobile phones from his custody. Further probe is under way.
