Senate Chairperson Yousuf Raza Gillani has reached Iran, where he will attend the funeral of the assassinated Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to state broadcaster PTV News.
He is accompanied by a high-level delegation, which was welcomed by Iranian officials upon its arrival in Tehran, PTV News said in an X post.
It quoted Gillani as saying that the commitment to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations would be reaffirmed during the visit.
