Impersonators held to foil kidnap bid

BADIN: A businessman was saved from being kidnapped by a gang posing themselves as officials of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in the Khor Wah area of Badin on Wednesday night.

According SHO Liaqat Ali Panhwar of the Khor Wah police station, a car was intercepted on a tip-off near Karo Gongro Bridge on Bathoro Road. During a search of the car and identification of its occupants, it emerged that one of them, Dilip Kumar Lohana, a businessman was being kidnapped by the other occupants, Akhtar Hussain Zardari, Imam Ali Kolachi, Shah Zaman Brohi and Ghulam Nabi Brohi, all residents of Thatta district.

Police took the suspects into their custody and recovered firearms, fake ACE and education department service cards and forged government seals and a police cap, besides the car, bearing Sindh government registration plate (GSA-914), they were riding.
