Khaled-Ghufran clinch title

KARACHI, July 12: Competing from North-South and East-West direction, Khaled Mohiuddin pairing with Ghufran Ashraf clinched the Howell Movement in the Karachi Club Mid-week Pair bridge contest with 60 per cent score on Tuesday.

The pair of father and son —Qamar Puri-Mubashir Puri — once again came into limelight by finishing second with a score of 59.13 per cent.

Iqbal Hyder and Ibrahim Baig finished third with 58.46 per cent score.

Mohammed Zubair pairing with Javed Rehman claimed fourth position.

Meanwhile, the weekend Duplicate Bridge programme of the Karachi Bridge Association is scheduled to start on Friday at the Aslam Bridge Hall of the National Stadium in Karachi.

In its first program, the KBA will conduct a pairs’ contest.

On Sunday, the association will arrange a team of four events based on Swiss Movement.—Agencies
