Woman dies as tractor-trolley hits rickshaw

SARGODHA: A woman died and six others were seriously injured on Tuesday when a speeding tractor-trolley hit a rickshaw near Pul Dungro on Sargodha-Faisalabad Road.

According to sources, as a result of the accident, a 30-year-old woman, Samrin Bibi, died on the spot and six others were seriously injured, who were shifted to Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.

A team from Sargodha Road police station reached the spot and started investigation.

CONVICTION: The court of additional district and sessions judge, handed down life term to man in a murder case, besides imposing a Rs500,000 fine on the convict.

According to court sources, the convict, Waqas, had killed one Omar three years ago in the Miani area of Sargodha.

A case (No 706/23) was registered by police against the accused under sections 302, 114 and 34 of the PPC.

ROAD CRASH: A collision between two heavy vehicles resulted in injuries to a driver in Sargodha.

As per sources, a heavy truck hit a 22-wheeler trailer, about 8 kilometers from Kot Momin town. As a result, the trailer driver, Tahir Javed, a resident of Samundri, was seriously injured. He was shifted to hospital.

As per police, the accident occurred when the truck driver dozed off and lost control over the vehicle.

FEARED DROWNED: It is being apprehended that a three-year-old girl has drowned in a canal near Jhal Chakian Chowk in Sargodha.

As per Sargodh Rescue 1122 and police, they were informed that a three-year-old girl fell into the canal and disappeared in water.

Rescue 1122 officials say that a team of divers is searching for the girl at various locations in the canal.

ARRESTED: Salanwali police claimed to have arrested several suspects allegedly involved in harassing the families visiting the local Family Park.

The police say that following complaints of harassment by some families visiting the park,
