PML denies rigging AJK elections

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, July 12: Ruling PML provincial leader Muhammad Iqbal Lali, parliamentary secretary Muhammad Arif Gondal, Malikwal tehsil nazim Ghulam Husain Bosaal and others have denied allegations of rigging during the AJK legislative assembly elections in Mandi Bahauddin.

They said the opposition leaders are doing face-saving by levelling the charges.

Speaking to a crowded press conference on Tuesday night at Lali Palace, they said former district nazim of the opposition group had failed to execute any development scheme even at his village during his four-year tenure. The incumbent nazim, Riaz Asghar Chaudhry has brought development funds worth Rs7 billion for the district during the last few months.

“Now the days of hoodwinking the public through slogan-mongering are over and the voters in the district have rejected all such politicians.”

They said the people had disliked the PPP-PML-N alliance, asking the opposition to accept their defeat.
