KARACHI: The remains of a Pakistani fisherman who died while serving a sentence in an Indian prison were flown to his home in Karachi from Lahore by the Edhi Foundation on Saturday.
As per details, Ismail Ibrahim, 75, was arrested by the Indian Coast Guard in 2021 on charges of smuggling contraband substances. After he died following a brief illness in prison, his body was handed over to Pakistani authorities at the Wagah border in Lahore.
On the directions of the Edhi Foundation’s Managing Trustee, Faisal Edhi, the remains were flown to Karachi, where they were transported by an Edhi ambulance to the deceased’s home in Keamari.
