LAHORE: A sessions court on Wednesday extended the interim pre-arrest bail of PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar and his wife in a cybercrime case registered against him for causing alleged harassment to actor Momina Iqbal.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqi heard the bail petition filed by Chadhar.

The MPA and his wife appeared before the court along with their counsel, Mian Ali Ashfaq.

The investigating officer informed the court that the mobile phone of the suspects had been forwarded to the laboratory for forensic analysis. He said more time was required to complete the investigation.

The judge extended the bail and restrained the NCCIA from arresting the MPA and his wife till July 2.

The judge also directed the investigating officer to submit a progress report at the next hearing.

The NCCIA had registered the case against Chadhar and his wife on a complaint filed by Momina Iqbal.

In apprehension of their arrest, the couple had approached the court for pre-arrest bail.
