Arrangements for Muharram 10 processions reviewed

GUJAR KHAN/Taxila: City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani and Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema on Tuesday visited Gujar Khan to review security and administrative arrangements ahead of Muharram 10 processions and gatherings.

They inspected the route of the main Ashura procession and reviewed the security deployment, traffic management plan, surveillance measures, and other administrative arrangements. They also visited the Central Imambargah Imamia to inspect security arrangements and interacted with officials responsible for ensuring the safety of mourners.

The officials also inspected the Model Bazaar and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where they reviewed security measures, emergency preparedness, and the availability of public facilities. Directions were issued to the concerned officers to ensure efficient arrangements during Muharram.

Taxila

Punjab Minister for Communications and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharath has said maintaining peace and ensuring the protection of public life and property during Muharram remained his government’s foremost priority, so authorities should utilise all available resources to ensure a peaceful and secure environment throughout the month.

The minister was chairing a review meeting held in Fatehjang. He was briefed on security, administrative and service delivery arrangements for Muharram in district Attock.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza, District Police Officer Sardar Mavarhan Khan and other officials along with members of the District Peace Committee.

The minister directed the district administration and law enforcement agencies to make elaborate security and other arrangements for Muharram.
