TOBA TEK SINGH, July 11: Strike of powerloom workers entered fifth day on Tuesday to press the owners for a raise in wages and decrease in working hours. Addressing a press conference here, powerloom owners association president Noor Ansari and other office-bearers condemned the strike and termed it as blackmailing by some political leaders of Gojra. They said they would never hold talks with the so-called leaders of workers and claimed that powerloomers had already raised the wages.

DBA: The district bar association members did not appear in courts on Tuesday due to death of two LHC judges and 43 other people in Multan plane crash on Monday.

A bar spokesman said strike would also be observed on Wednesday (today).
