TOBA TEK SINGH: Jhang’s Kotwali police arrested a kidnapper from Karachi who had abducted a minor girl from Jhang three years ago.
The kidnap case of eighth class student, Muqaddas Bibi, was registered on the complaint of her father, Muhammad Saleem who alleged that Khuda Bakhsh, a resident of Jhang, had abducted his daughter.
After Lahore High Court Chief Justice Alia Neelam and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took notice, a team led by in-charge police post Aliabad Muhammad Iqbal Sial, spent five days in the Clifton area of Karachi. They only knew that the suspect was living in some area of Clifton. The police worked continuously for five days, recovered Muqaddas, arrested Khuda Bakhsh and shifted both of them to Jhang.
Muqaddas said Khuda Bakhsh had contracted illegal nikah with her but it was never registered. She added that the suspect kept her locked in a house for three years and gave birth to a baby girl during this period.
In Faisalabad, an accused in a triple murder case was arrested 12 years after the incident by Thikriwala police.
Police claimed that the accused, Abdul Shakoor, and his accomplices had shot dead their three opponents over enmity at Chak 89-JB on Painsara-Dijkot Road in 2014. A court had declared him as proclaimed offender.P olice found his whereabouts and arrested him in a raid.
ENCOUNTER: In an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) at Jhang, a suspected drug dealer has been killed.
Police claimed that the woman drug dealer, Asia Machani, was arrested two days ago from the Harmalpura locality from whom 1kg of ice heroin was recovered. During investigation, she revealed the name of Abdul Waheed as the main supplier. When a CCD team raided Bhakkar Road to arrest him, he and his accomplices opened fire. In crossfire, the deceased was found dead and, according to police, he was hit by the fire of his own accomplices who managed to flee.
RECOVERED: Thikriwala police recovered a farm worker who was illegally detained and chained by a dairy farm owner at Chak 75-JB.
Muhammad Rizwan of Chak 80-JB complained to police that his brother, Imran, was an employee at the farm of Zahid Mahmood who had tied him with a charpoy. On his complaint police raided the farm and recovered Imran. They arrested Zahid.
SUICIDE: A man died by suicide at Chak 224-RB, Faisalabad. Reports said Ashfaq Shabbir (50) was jobless and was worried about his finances and he consumed poison. When his family came to know about it, they shifted him to Allied Hospital where he expired.
