RAWALPINDI: A woman was gunned down allegedly by her brother over a domestic dispute in the Dhamial area, while a teenage motorcycle rider was killed and his father injured after being hit by a dumper in the Saddar Bairuni area, police said on Sunday.

Aatifa Bibi, 24, wife of Kamran Hussain and mother of a one-year-old son, had been living at her father’s house for the past several months following a domestic dispute.

On Sunday, her brother allegedly opened fire on her. One bullet hit her head while another struck her arm. She died on the spot. The suspect fled the scene after the incident. Her body was later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for a postmortem.

In a separate incident, a teenage boy was killed while his father was critically injured after being hit by a dumper on Adiala Road.

Police said Mohammad Usman, 13, and his father Fahim Akhtar were travelling on a motorcycle when they were hit by the dumper. Both were shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, where Mohammad Usman was pronounced dead, while Fahim Akhtar was said to be in critical condition.

Meanwhile, in Saddar Bairuni, a pharmacy was ransacked by two unidentified robbers, while a police official’s house was burgled, with thieves escaping with gold jewellery worth Rs7 million, Rs210,000 in cash, a DVR and perfumes.

Sub-inspector Rajab Ali lodged an FIR stating that unidentified burglars broke into his house and stole jewellery and other valuables.

In another incident, delivery boy Mohsin Ali, a resident of Dhamial, said he and Arslan were on their way to deliver pizza when they were intercepted by two armed robbers who snatched Rs13,500 and pizza worth Rs14,200 at gunpoint.

Separately, pharmacist Mohammad Zubair lodged an FIR with Saddar Bairuni police, stating that two robbers entered his pharmacy and snatched Rs50,000 and two mobile phones at gunpoint.
