KARACHI: Raahim Veqar defeated Haziq Areejo 8-6 to win the men’s singles final as the second Sohail University National Tennis Championship concluded here at the Modern Club on Friday.

Eraj Batool clinched the women’s crown after defeating Eschelle Asif 6-4 on retirement. Eschelle, though, didn’t return empty handed as she had earlier claimed the U-18 crown following her 6-2, 6-4 win over Rania Bus.

Mohammad Yahya secured the U-18 title with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Rashid Bachani. Rashid made amends for the loss as he bagged the U-14 title when he edged Mohammad Muaz Shahbaz 7-6, 6-7, 6-3.

The girls U-14 final saw Eman Shahbaz defeat Dua Yousuf 4-2, 4-2. Aayan Shahbaz lifted the U-12 trophy while Eman emerged victorious in the U-10 category.

In other categories, the duo of Yahya and Rashid annexed the U-18 doubles title and the pair of Mahatir Mohammad and Ruhab Faisal claimed the men’s doubles title.
