SOUTH WAZIRISTAN LOWER: Final match of Reedor Super League 2026 concluded here on Saturday in Raghzai, a remote and underdeveloped area of Birmal tehsil in Lower South Waziristan, with Badshah Khan Cricket Club emerging as champions after defeating Rizwan Cricket Club in an exciting and closely contested encounter.
The tournament attracted a large number of spectators including local residents, youth and cricket enthusiasts from surrounding areas. The final generated considerable excitement, with both teams displaying impressive skills and determination throughout the match. Spectators enthusiastically supported their teams, creating a vibrant atmosphere that reflected the growing popularity of cricket in the region.
Chairman of Badloon Welfare Association, Sifatullah Wazir, attended the event as chief guest and witnessed the final match before participating in the prize distribution ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the importance of sports in promoting healthy social values and constructive engagement among young people. “Sports activities are a symbol of progress, development and positive thinking in any society,” he said. “Such events not only encourage young people to engage in healthy and productive activities but also contribute significantly to promoting peace, brotherhood and social harmony.”
Mr Sifat Wazir said successfully organizing Reedor Super League was clear evidence that youth of the area were peace-loving, talented, and eager to contribute positively to their communities.
However, he expressed concern over the lack of sports infrastructure in Raghzai and urged the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments as well as relevant sports authorities to take practical steps towards construction of a standard cricket ground in the area.
