Taxila bar gets Rs3m in grant

TAXILA: Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the welfare of the legal fraternity and the strengthening of judicial institutions, Federal Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik presented a grant-in-aid cheque worth Rs3 million to the Taxila Bar Association on behalf of the Ministry of Law and Justice.

Addressing members of the bar, Barrister Aqeel Malik said the present government is utilising all available resources to support bar associations across the country and create better opportunities for lawyers, particularly young practitioners.

He stressed that a strong, independent and well-equipped legal community is indispensable for ensuring the effective delivery of justice and the rule of law.

The minister said that empowering bar associations and facilitating lawyers remain among the government’s key priorities. He noted that the provision of financial assistance reflects the government’s resolve to strengthen legal institutions and improve professional facilities for members of the legal fraternity.

Barrister Aqeel Malik expressed pride in standing with the legal community of Taxila in its efforts for institutional development and professional excellence. He assured the lawyers that law ministry would continue extending support to bar associations.
