LAHORE: The National Women’s Hockey Championship will be held in Islamabad during the second week of July, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) announced on Friday.
Teams from Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and other regions will compete in the championship, said a press release issued by the PHF.
According to the PHF, the primary objective of the championship is to encourage young women players, provide them with professional training and quality exposure and create a competitive pathway.
“This pathway will enable them [women] to represent Pakistan at the national and international level, just like their male counterparts,” the PHF said.
