UC secretary arrested for taking bribe

TOBA TEK SINGH: A team of Toba Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested the Choharwala Union Council (UC) secretary in a raid on Wednesday for allegedly receiving bribe.

As per an ACE official, UC secretary Naeem allegedly received Rs100,000 as bribe from a complainant for performing his official duty.

The raid was conducted by Circle Officer Hafiz Farooq Saeed under the supervision of Civil Judge Al-Basit Mudassir.

TRANSFERRED: Punjab specialised healthcare and medical education secretary on Wednesday transferred the Jhang College of Nursing principal and directed her to report to the department’s head office.

As per sources, the action was taken against the principal after nursing students staged a protest against the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital management for failing to take measures for their protection against violence by patients’ attendants.
