Directive to minimize outages

LAHORE, July 8: Wapda Chairman Tariq Hamid has asked chief executives of distribution companies and senior officials of the authority to minimize power outages.

Addressing a high-level meeting attended by chief executives of distribution companies and Wapda members here on Saturday, he said that there were numerous complaints that the staff of the compliant offices was not attending consumers properly. The chief executives should ensure that the complaints were not only attended to but were also redressed promptly.

Overall power supply and demand situation in the country was discussed in detail in the meeting and decisions were taken to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the people. It was also decided to use all available options to cover the shortfall in power supply due to reduced hydel power generation.
