[Meanwhile, the Delhi correspondent reports that,] The fabulously rich Nizam, now politically exhausted, has proposed that his precious jewels — rubies, diamonds, and sapphi[re]s — handed down to him by his illustrious forefathers be sent to America for sale, for none in Bharat could … buy them. The jewels will fetch him about Rs 16 crores. One of his jewels — the Jacob diamond — has not yet been priced. It weighs more than the famous Kohinoor, which adorn[s] the British crown.
The Nizam has already sold jewellery worth Rs 30 lakh, mostly gold ornaments studded with stones. He is now selling some rare silver.
