BATTAGRAM: Three persons were killed over a property dispute in the Chorr area of Allai tehsil here on Monday, the police said.

According to residents and police, an exchange of fire took place between two groups over setting up of a shop. The clash left one person, identified as Habibur Rehman, dead from one side, and two persons, identified as Hafeezur Rehman and Inayatur Rehman, from the other group.

During summer, residents go to the remote tourist destination of Chorr and set up shops, makeshift eateries, and other businesses to earn a living.

Due to difficult terrain, it is very difficult to reach the Chorr area as there is no access by jeep or other vehicles.

The Banna police station SHO said that a case into the killings had been registered.

In another incident, a man was shot dead within the limits of Shamlai police station.

The police said an accused, Mohammad Amin, pelted stones on the roof of Mohammad Zarin’s house. When Zarin came out, Amin opened fire, killing him on the spot.
