SHANGLA: Transporters blocked the Puran-Mingora and Puran-Buner roads to all kind of traffic in a protest demonstrating against alleged poor-quality work on a road project funded by the World Bank.

The protesters claimed that construction had been extremely substandard from the very beginning, pointing out that low-quality roadblocks have been laid, several culverts are blocked and drainage system has been severely disrupted at multiple locations.

Furthermore, they highlighted that heavy dust kicked up by the faulty roadblocks has made daily life exceedingly difficult for local residents.

The demonstrators also alleged that the tar used on the road surface is totally substandard, noting that it already had shown visible signs of wear and tear.

ACCIDENT:Six people including four children and two women were injured when a jeep lost control and plunged into a deep gorge on Landswick Road in Chakisar tehsil.
