KARACHI: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assured the Sindh government that the federal government will extend all possible support for maintaining law and order and combating narcotics.

He said this during a meeting with Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon in Islamabad.

They held detailed discussions on measures to curb drug trafficking and strengthen law and order in major cities of Sindh, including Karachi, said a press release issued here on Thursday.

It said Naqvi congratulated the Sindh government on the successful operations conducted against dacoits and criminal elements in the riverine areas.

He stated that the Sindh Police had played a commendable role in restoring law and order by demonstrating bravery, professionalism and determination under challenging circumstances.

During the meeting, Memon emphasised that effective coordination and cooperation between the federation and the provinces remain the most effective way to address national challenges.

He said that all institutions and governments must work together in matters of national importance, adding that the Sindh government would further intensify its efforts to eliminate crime, strengthen law and order and ensure the protection of citizens.

Both ministers agreed that stronger cooperation and coordination between the federal and Sindh governments would help address public issues more effectively and promote better governance and service delivery.
