LAHORE: Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party former patron-in-chiefJahangir Khan Tareen on Thursday announced setting up of two educational institutions – one for boys and the other for girls -- inPishin district of Balochistan at a cost of Rs1bn.

He was speaking at the inauguration of a state-of-the-art computer laboratory established with the support of the Tareen Education Foundation at the Government Queen Mary Graduate College, Lahore, here on Thursday.

The facility is aimed at providing female students with access to modern technology and digital learning opportunities, equipping them with the skills required to meet future challenges.

On the occasion, Mr Tareen saidthe future of the younger generation was closely linked with modern education and technology.

He said that through his foundation, significant efforts were being made to ensure that quality educational resources and opportunities reach underprivileged communities. He added that his foundation is currently working with more than 225 educational institutions to improve infrastructure, basic facilities, and the quality of education.

Sharing that his tribe originated from Balochistan before settling in Multan, Mr Tareen said that in recognition of this connection, he announced two high-quality educational institutions for boys and girls in Pishin district of the province at an estimated cost of Rs1 billion.

Tareen also announced the establishment of a modern computer laboratory for the school affiliated with Queen Mary Graduate College.

College Principal Dr Sidra Amir said the new computer laboratory was equipped with world-class facilities and would play a vital role in enhancing the academic and professional prospects of the students.
