SAHIWAL: A 50-foot breach occurred near Ladhu Wanga Rajhwaya in Khanwah Division, close to village 69/D, Tehsil Pakpattan, on Thursday morning.

Although the local irrigation staff, Rescue 1122, police, and administrative officials reached the site late, authorities managed to divert the floodwater into the Sukhnai drainage line (natural drain) by afternoon with the help of heavy machinery.

Deputy Commissioner Asif Raza said the diversion prevented large tracts of agricultural land from being inundated. He added that the breach was plugged through the collective efforts of multiple line departments.
