BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur Saddar police claimed on Sunday to have arrested a man who allegedly raped a minor boy on Saturday night.

According to the police, ‘H’ (13), son of Abdul Malik, a resident of Javed Colony, Bahawalpur, was returning from the tailor’s shop, where he worked as an apprentice, when the suspect, ‘F’, lured him to his house, where he served the boy a spiked drink.

When the boy fell unconscious, the suspect allegedly raped him.

On returning home late in the night, the boy narrated his ordeal to his father, who rushed him to the emergency ward of the Bahawal Victoria Hospital, where the doctors confirmed the boy was raped.

They called the police, which registered an FIR (No 701/26) under section 376 of the PPC against the suspect.

The police claimed to have arrested the suspect on Sunday.

BOOKED: Bahawalpur Saddar police have booked three suspects for allegedly torturing a transperson and snatching Rs35,000 from him.

As per the police, an FIR (No 703/26) has been registered against a suspect, Meenu Shah and two others, under sections 506, 379, 341 and 355 of the PPC for allegedly torturing and snatching Rs35,000 from a transperson, Ashraf Ali.

The suspects are yet to be arrested.

GIRL ‘ABDUCTED’: Two men allegedly abducted a minor girl from her house in Muhammad Pura in the limits of Gaggo police station in Vehari district.

According to the police, the complainant, Razzaq, stated that his daughter Hira Firdaus (16) was alone in her house, when the suspect, Ehsanullah Watto, along with his unidentified accomplice abducted her.

Acting on the complaint, the police registered an abduction case against Watto and his accomplice, who were yet to be arrested.

ARRESTED: Vehari Saddar police claimed to have recovered 10 kilogram heroin from an alleged drug trafficker, Arshad, and arrested him.

In another raid, Gaggo Mandi police arrested two alleged drug peddlers -- Ghulam Murtaza and Malik Belal -- recovering over three kilograms of charas from their possession.

MAN TORTURED: Daniwal police in Vehari district claimed to have arrested one of the four suspects who allegedly tortured an elderly man, after a video clip of the incident surfaced on social media.

According to a police PRO, in the video, the victim, Baba Mumtaz, could be seen begging for mercy from the suspect, Abbas, and three other suspects, who were torturing him.

He said that Abbas had been arrested, while the remaining three suspects were still at large.

BOY ELECTRO-CUTED: An eight-year-old boy, Rizwan, was electrocuted when he touched a water pump in his house at Mauza Uch Gilani in Uch Sharif in Bahawalpur district.

Meanwhile, a boy Muzamil (14) died after the motorcycle he was riding was run over by a tractor-trolley on Jhangiwali Road.

His body was shifted to the BVH, while the police took the tractor driver into custody.
