Saudi govt awards Pakistan Haj DG

ISLAMABAD:In a momentous achievement for Pakistan, the Director General of the Pakistan Haj Mission, Abdul Wahab Soomro, has been honored with the ‘Labbaytum Excellence Award’ for the second consecutive year, recognizing his exemplary leadership and outstanding services during Haj 2026.

The coveted award was formally presented by Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Haj and Umrah, during the high-profile concluding ceremony of the Haj season held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to official details, this top-tier state honour is conferred by the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah upon international mission heads who demonstrate exceptional discipline, visionary leadership, and the integration of advanced digital solutions to serve the Guests of Allah.

Expressing his gratitude on the sidelines of the ceremony, DG Soomro remarked: “This international accolade is the culmination of the relentless, round-the-clock efforts of the entire Pakistan Haj Mission. We are profoundly grateful to Almighty Allah for granting us the strength to serve the pilgrims with such high standards.”

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, along with various social and diplomatic circles, extended their heartfelt congratulations to DG Abdul Wahab Soomro on receiving this distinguished award from Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, terming it a historic milestone in Pakistan’s Haj management.
