MIRPURKHAS, July 6: The supply of power to Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Tharparkar districts has been disrupted after Wednesday’s rains.
On Thursday, rains and heavy winds lashed several towns and villages in the region.
Low-lying areas were inundated and the main roads and streets were submerged. The people faced severe hardships due to stagnant water.
Business activities were suspended and traffic was thin on roads. The water supply to towns and villages was disrupted due to power failure.
The district government declared a state of emergency.
