LAHORE, July 6: The board of directors of the Punjab Seed Corporation on Thursday approved Rs1.5 billion budget, which will be utilised for providing 2.2 million maund seed of wheat, rice, cotton, maize, gram, oil seed, fodder, tissue culture seeds of potato and seasonal vegetables to farmers.

Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Punjab agriculture minister Arshad Khan Lodhi said the budget was 10.30 per cent higher compared to the last year. The PSC is the only semi-government organisation that relied on its own resources and provided quality seed to farmers on cheaper rates, he said. —Staff Reporter
