KARACHI: Protest day

Published July 6, 2006

KARACHI, July 5: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has announced that it will observe a ‘protest day’ on Friday (July 7) against persisting power and water shortage, increase in electricity and gas tariff, price-hike and the present government’s policies.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of MMA’s Karachi chapter with its acting-president Maulana Khan Mohammad Rabbani in the chair.

MMA leaders said rallies would be taken out in different areas against government’s ‘provocative steps’ to create anarchy in the country.—PPI
