BADIN: The Sindh education department has launched a facial-recognition attendance system for teaching and non-teaching staff across Badin district to improve monitoring, transparency and accountability in government schools.

The registration drive began on Monday in Badin taluka at the Government High School Dr Abdul Jabbar Junejo and in Talhar taluka at the Government Boys High School Talhar, under the supervision of education officials.

According to officials, the campaign will continue on May 19 in Shaheed Fazil Rahu taluka at the Government Girls High School and in Tando Bago taluka at the Government Boys High School. The final phase will conclude on May 20 at the Government High School Matli for staff from Matli taluka.

The district administration aims to register 8,317 education department employees under the new digital system.
